PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal where trouble for re-connection is omitted even on the occurrence of wrong connection to a telephone line at a low cost with a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: The communication terminal having a plurality of modular jacks of the same shape is provided with a 1st modular jack 1 that connects the terminal to a telephone line, a 2nd modular jack 2 that connects the terminal to an externally mounted telephone set, a line changeover means 3 that switches the line connection from the 1st modular jack to the 2nd modular jack, a 1st DC detection means 4 that detects the presence of a DC current flowing through the 1st modular jack, and the 2nd DC detection means 5 that detects the presence of a DC current flowing through the 2nd modular jack. When the detection means 5 detects a DC current flowing through the 2nd modular jack, the line changeover means switches the line connection to make transmission/reception via the 2nd modular jack.
