POINTING DEVICE HAVING BAR CAPABLE OF ROTATING AND SLIDING

PURPOSE: A pointing device having a bar capable of rotating and sliding is applied are provided to efficiently install the device even in a small-sized space by providing a new form of the pointing device capable of accurately moving an image in one direction in case that the image is moved on a screen. CONSTITUTION: A pointing device(20) is composed of a top housing(22), a cylindrical bar(40), a board(50), a button(68), a bottom housing. The cylindrical bar(40) is combined with a base(26) formed in the top housing(22). The cylindrical bar(40) is exposed to the upper part of the top housing(22) through an opening(24). The base(26) is variously formed in the form located on the same line. The base(26) is extended to the inside of the top housing(22) from each end of the opening(24). A slot(28) is formed at the bottom of the base(26). The slot(28) divides the surface of the base(26) into two. The cylindrical bar(40) is elastically supported by the base(26). In addition, the cylindrical bar(40) is rotated and slid on a central axis(46) of the base(26) and the cylindrical bar(40). The first marking unit(42) and the second marking unit(44) are installed around the circumference of the cylindrical bar(40). The first marking unit(42) is composed of a plurality of black lines formed parallel to the central axis(46). The second marking unit(44) is composed of a plurality of black lines formed vertical to the lines of the first marking unit(42). A microcomputer(52), the first infrared LED(56), the second infrared LED(58), the first photo transistor(60) and the second photo transistor(61).
