PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an authoring device capable of managing material data such as moving image data in relation with a scenario of multimedia data and easily executing management such as the retrieval and reconstitution of plural scenes constituting multimedia data. SOLUTION: An index generation tool 2 generates index objects corresponding to respective scenes constituting multimedia data. Each index object includes information indicating the reproduction start time and end time of a material object and is constituted of a format allowed to be stored in a data base. The index information of material data such as moving image data can be efficiently generated from time information in relation with a scenario of multimedia data. |
