PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device which is lessened in material cost, weight, and thickness and where its keys are prevented from being erroneously pushed down by a method wherein protrusions and protrudent stripes are provided on the inner side of a cover, and the cover is pivotally supported in a portable electronic equipment in a rotatable manner in the direction of development. SOLUTION: A cover 17 is formed so as to have a convex surface that bulges out, and a protrusion 21 is provided on each inner corner of the cover 17. The protrusion 21 is provided at positions so as not to come into contact with function keys 5 and dial keys 6 or so as to reside out of rows of keys when the cover 17 is closed. The projections 21 are brought into contact with parts of the surface 8 of a main body 10 where the function keys 5 and the dial keys 6 are not arranged to keep a gap between the cover 17 and the surface 8 when the cover 17 is closed. By this setup, even if an external force is applied to the cover 17 when it is closed, the tips of the projections 21 bear against the surface 8 to serve as a spacer, so that the function keys 5 and the dial keys 6 are prevented from being pressed down. |
