PURPOSE: A computer system having an audio control function and a control method thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing cost of a computer system by forming audio chips only in a host, by sensing an operation state of a station audio amplifier, and by cutting off an operation of an audio amplifier in case that the station audio amplifier is operated. CONSTITUTION: A host audio amplifier(110) amplifies and outputs audio signals outputted from an audio chip(120). A docking connector(160) transmits an operation state of the station audio amplifier(110) to a host. A station audio amp(190) amplifies and outputs the audio signals outputted from the audio chip(120). An audio control unit(140) senses an operation state of the station audio amp(190). After that, the audio control unit(140) cuts off an operation of the host audio amplifier(110) in case that the station audio amplifier is operated. An amplifier switching unit(150) controls on/off operation of the host audio amplifier(110) based on a control signal of the audio control unit(140).
