The apparatus consists of a seat (9) for the patient, a chamber (2) for the patient's legs, and a cover (10) which seals over the chamber. The chamber contains nozzles (3a, 3b, 3c) for spraying the patient's knees, ankles and soles of the feet respectively, connected to a thermal water distribution circuit. It also has a pipe (6) for introducing warm moist air, the pipe having at least one outlet (6a) situated in front of the patient's knees, while an outlet for extracting the warm moist air is situated behind the calves. The apparatus also has a number of nozzles (3d) for spraying the calves with fine particles of cold water.
