FLEX SOLE

A shoe designed for active wear is described having a distinctive outsole (16). The outsole (16) has a peripheral wall (20) delimiting a plantar, heel and arch regions of the outsole. A cushioning pad (18) is located within a cavity (28) formed within the outsole. The pad (18) is molded-in-place to a floor (30) within the cavity (28) to form an integral functional part of the outsole.
