PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability for copying image data between plural storage media and to speed up copying operation. SOLUTION: An image recorder 7 is provided with a CPU 23 for controlling the recorder 7 itself, a frame memory 25 for storing image data, an MO drive 27 for storing image data or the like in an MO 26, an SCSI controller 28 for controlling the MO drive 27, and smart media 29 (registered trademark) 29 for recording image data photographed by a digital camera. The recorder 7 is also provided with a PC card 30 for storing the smart media 29, a PCMCIA slot 31 for storing the PC card 30, a PCMCIA controller 32 for controlling the slot 31, a smart media insertion detection part 33 for detecting whether the PC card 30 is inserted or not, and a switch 35 for executing the input of ID from the external and the selection of operation.
