The controller has a central processing unit and a memory connected to the man-machine interface. The interface has a control panel and a screen and includes a profile path editor to enable a user to enter and edit a path for the workpiece, e.g. a grinding wheel of a grinding machine. The interface then converts the path which has been entered into a program in standard code to control the grinding machine.
