PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with numerous specifications on the recording and reproducing device side and to make contributable to the reduction of cost, without greatly changing the design of a gimbal spring system. SOLUTION: The magnetic head has a structure such that the head body 10 is attached to a gimbal spring 41, the base end of which is fixed to a fixing body 35 as a gimbal spring fixing member; that the gimbal spring 41 is provided with one or more bend part, separating the fixing position of the base end from the fist bent part J1 on the side nearest to the base end to the fixing body 35, and extending the fixing body 35 to near the first bend part, and that the first spring part K1 formed between the first bent part J1 and the fixing position is provided on the fixing body 35.
