DIAMINOBENZENE DERIVATIVE, POLYIMIDE OBTAINED THEREFROM, AND LIQUID-CRYSTAL ALIGNMENT FILM

A diaminobenzene derivative represented by general formula [1]; a polyimide which is obtained by reacting one or more diamines comprising at least 1 mol% the diaminobenzene derivative with at least one compound selected among tetracarboxylic dianhydrides and derivatives thereof to form a polyimide precursor having a reduced viscosity of 0.05 to 5.0 dl/g (in 30 DEG C N-methylpyrrolidone in a concentration of 0.5 g/dl) and causing the precursor to undergo ring closure; and a liquid-crystal alignment film which comprises the polyimide and has excellent evenness in liquid-crystal alignment. In said formula [1] X and P each is a single bond, -O-, -COO-, -OCO-, -CONH-, or NHCO-; Q is C>1-22< linear alkyl or linear fluoroalkyl; R is fluorine, methyl, or trifluoromethyl; and a and b each is an integer of 1 to 4.
