The invention concerns a device for controlling a motor vehicle equipment comprising a substantially elongated linking member (10), whereof at least one of the ends is provided with a connection piece (14) to be connected to a mobile support (18). Said mobile support (18) comprises a side wall (32) linked to a base (30) for delimiting a housing for receiving the connection piece (14) and having an axial opening for inserting the connection piece and a side opening for allowing through a linking member (10), and retaining means (44) which are deformed when the connection piece (14) is inserted in the housing (34) and which then return to a normal position so as to maintain the connection piece in its housing. The invention is applicable to motor vehicle heating and/or air conditioning appliances.
