The invention concerns a method for diagnosing and monitoring the evolution of a synovial pathology characterised in that it consists in: (i) contacting in vitro a biological sample from an individual with means for measuring a synovial pathology-specific marker; (ii) determining the specific marker level; (iii) optionally comparing the marker level with a reference level representing the absence of pathology or representing a predetermined stage of the pathology, the marker level relative to the reference level indicating the presence or evolution of the synovial pathology.
