PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently recover toner left on the surface of an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is not formed into a toner carrier by preventing the toner from being put together with paper powder and the like. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the image carrier 1 and the toner carrier holding the toner 32 are opposed to each other through a prescribed interval (d), and the toner 32 is supplied to the electrostatic latent image of the carrier 1, and the toner 32 left at the carrier 1 is recovered into the toner carrier by moving the carrier 1 and the toner carrier in an identical direction at a developing part where they are opposed and applying alternating voltage between the carrier 1 and the toner carrier. Then, the quantity of the toner 32 supplied to the carrier 1 is suddenly increased in a 1st area where potential difference acting in a developing direction that the toner 32 is fed to the carrier 1 from the toner carrier is small and gradually increased in a 2nd area where the potential difference acting in the developing direction is larger than the 1st area. |
