PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a test having an equivalent load at an actual operating condition on a switching element with a test apparatus of small capacity, thereby improving its economy and reliability. SOLUTION: This method involves a reactor 3 which serves as a load and connected to the load side of a self-excited converter 1 formed by the single- phase bridge connection of a plurality of switching elements, and a current detecting means 4 for detecting current (load current) passing through the reactor 3, so as to test a self-excited converter 1. An arbitrary one phase(first phase) of the self-excited converter 1 is set in a switching condition under a prescribed operating condition, and the remaining another phase (second phase) is current- controlled so that the energizing current of the first phase becomes a prescribed current. |
