A suction head for a floor vacuum cleaner is described. The switch lever (6) designed as a foot switch is located in rotary fashion on the suction channel (2), grasps through an opening of the housing upper part and has a guide element (11) which slides on a guide surface (12) of the housing upper part. The position of the guide element determines the angle between the housing upper part and the suction channel. The guide element is designed as a peg and is forcibly guided in a switch couplings connected with the housing upper part. Between the housing upper part and the suction channel is located a spring (16) which exerts a force upon the suction channel directed inwards into the housing upper part.
