PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a satisfactory air bearing shape by turning the air bearing formation face of plural slider bars into a plane state without any projection or recession, and uniformly applying liquid-shaped photoresist in a method for manufacturing a thin film magnetic head slider. SOLUTION: An air bearing formation face 3 of plural slider bars 2 is brought into contact on a (transparent) place to which (UV hardening) adhesive is applied in a state that this is vacuum absorbed to a flat fixing tool having highly precise flatness, and the adhesive is hardened so that the air bearing formation face 3 without any difference in level can be formed. Then, liquid photo resist is applied to the upper face in uniform thickness so that the air bearing shape can be formed with satisfactory precision.
