PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size and cost of a dynamo-electric machine provided with permanent magnets and to increase the output of the machine by efficiently arranging the permanent magnets. SOLUTION: A dynamo-electric machine is constituted, in such a way that a plurality of permanent magnets 11-16 constituting one magnetic pole indicated by a code P is arranged nearly symmetrically with respect to a center line C of the magnetic pole. The magnets 11-16 are arranged, in such a way that the magnets 11-13 and 14-16 are respectively arranged in a zigzag manner. In addition, the magnets 11-16 are also arranged so that the substantially facing surfaces of adjacent permanent magnets, for example, the magnets 11 and 12 become identical polarity (S pole).
