PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the connection state of a line even in the case of a failure of a power source of an electronic line switching device itself capable of m:n switching. SOLUTION: Bypass routes S201 and S202 are provided which can hold the connection state of a line even if a voltage is not supplied to a logic part because of a failure of the power source of the device. At the beginning, a matrix switch part 201 is so set that a host A may be connected to a modem 1 and a host B may be connected to a modem 2, and relays 207 to 210 are connected to contact A sides. Relays 207 to 210 are non-latch type relays which are opened or closed in accordance with the presence or the absence of currents flowing their coils. When detecting that a voltage is not supplied, a relay control part 211 switches relays 207 to 210 to contact B sides, namely, bypass routes S201 and S202 connection of the line can be secured without voltage supply. Thus, connection of the host A to the modem 1 is secured through the relay 207, the bypass route S207, and the relay 209, and that of the host B to the modem 2 is secured through the relay 208, the bypass route S202, and the relay 210.
