A microwave amplifier (10) comprises an inductor (12) and a resistor (13), which are connected in parallel between the source electrode of a field-effect transistor (11) and ground. The inductor (12) resonates at resonance frequency (fo) because it has a parasitic component (B). Since the source electrode of the field-effect transistor (11) is grounded through the resistor (13) connected in parallel with the inductor (12), however, the field-effect transistor (11) operates normally even if resonance makes the inductor (12) open. Therefore, the microwave amplifier (10) performs stable operation.
