<p>A single-core optical fiber cord (1) of less than 1.2 mm in cladding diameter includes an optical fiber core (2) covered with plastic, a fiber layer (3) surrounding the optical fiber core and acting as a tension member, and a cladding layer (4) consisting of flame retardant nonhalogen resin. The flame retardance, mechanical properties and handleability of the optical fiber are maintained even though its diameter is below 1.2 mm.</p> |
