<p>An aqueous polyester dispersion which is excellent in properties such as water resistance, weatherability, processability, and adhesion, has a high degree of freedom of liquid property regulation by a post-treatment, and can be advantageously dried and converted into a powder; and a process for efficiently producing the aqueous dispersion with ease at low cost. The aqueous polyester dispersion contains a water-insoluble polyester (i) and a polyester (ii) containing sulfonate groups bonded to the polymer in a concentration of 0.1 to 1.5 mmol in terms of SO3- amount per g of the polymer. The process for producing an aqueous polyester dispersion comprises a step in which a resin material comprising the water-insoluble polyester (i) and the polyester (ii) is melt-kneaded and a step in which water or a basic aqueous solution is added to the kneaded resin to disperse it into the aqueous medium and thereby convert it into an aqueous dispersion.</p> |
