Gas burners (1) for the cooking points of a gas oven are described. The cooking point has an essentially horizontal surface (3) made of plate or glass ceramic in which the gas burners are located. The gas burner has a nozzle holder (4) below the surface to which the gas is supplied and in which a nozzle (9) pointing upwards is located that blows the gas together with in-flowing air into a vertical channel (11) of a burner head (5). This is located on the channel reaching into the nozzle holder above the cooking point surface and forms a radial outlet (14) on its top side that is covered by a burner lid (6). This has on its outside edge, radial outlets for the gas/air mixture. The top side of the burner lid has in the middle a vertical annular or sleeve-shaped projection (15) open upwards for the accommodation of a peg-shaped or finger-shaped projection that projects downwards on the under side of a grid located above the cooking point.
