The flexible endless steel strips (4,5) draw the material being pressed through the press and are guided about the pressing table (1) through drive drums (7,8) and guide drums. The steel strips are reset in the longitudinal axis I-I of the continuously operating press through axial displacement of the rolling rod insert shaft about a central axis of rotation III-III on the longitudinal axis. The rolling rods (12) are guided depending on the axial position of the insert shafts in the inlet area deviating from the orthogonal, inclined into the pressing area and exert through their running direction unilateral shear forces on the steel strips which act across the longitudinal axis and produce a correcting action on the path of the steel strips. Independent claim describes continuously operating press.
