When a print head (18K) is attached to a carriage (16), a contact base (40) is pressed by a print head (18K). As a result, a connection face (32) of a carriage flexible board (30) is swung along with the contact base (40) in the directions shown by X-X', Y-Y', and Z-Z' arrows around a contact point and moved along a connection face (62) of a head flexible board. Therefore, even if the connection face (62) inclines, the connection face (32) also inclines as a result of the inclination of the connection face. Hence the two connection faces (32, 62) approach each other equidistantly over the whole faces and the electrical connection portions on the faces are electrically connected to each other reliably.
