摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detection of driver's eyes with accuracy by forming an isosceles triangle based on a driver's nose as well as respective elements, determining elements of eyes and identifying both eyes of the driver. SOLUTION: A camera detects a face image of a driver while a vehicle is running (S1). In an image processing section, binary digitalization of the image is performed through filtering such that pixels similar to eyes are determined to be one, and pixels other than 1 are determined to be zero (S2). Elements present in pair are determined, and an element closest to the paired elements is identified to be a driver's nose (S3). Based on the nose, an isosceles triangle is formed and elements in which eyebrows and eyes can both be found at the same time are determined (S4). Then two apexes of the small isosceles triangle, composed of the determined elements of eyes and the identified nose, are identified to be the driver's eyes (S5). In this way, the driver's eyes can be detected accurately based on a face image of the driver detected while a vehicle is running and thus an eye-detection method in a doze alarming system can be achieved.
