The present invention provides a battery having a housing for electronic circuitry. The battery includes a container having a positive terminal and a negative terminal, an electrochemical cell and a housing containing electronic circuitry affixed to the contaier. The electronic circuitry is electrically connected to the electrochemical cell and terminals to create an output voltage measured across the terminals of the container.
