PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugated alkadiene telomer, as the catalyst can be recovered and repetitively reused with high retention of its catalytic activity by distilling a specific reaction mixture solution to recover the conjugated alkadiene telomer and simultaneously collect a specific distillation residue. SOLUTION: A conjugated alkadiene is telomerized in the presence of a palladium catalyst including an organo-phosphorus compound and the reaction mixture is distilled to obtain the objective conjugated alkadiene telomers and simultaneously collect the distillation residue including the high-boiling by- products and the palladium catalyst, satisfying the following formulas: A<0.009×B2×C-0.5+0.075 and C<0.1 [A is the concentration of palladium in mole/L; B is the concentration of the conjugated alkadiene telomer (derivative)s in mole/L; C is the concentration of the organophosphorus compound in mole/L] and the distillation residue is recycled in the reaction system as a catalyst. |
