PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device, preventing the deterioration or the like of an image due to the excessive loading of matters to be recorded on a delivery tray and prominent in the property of quality. SOLUTION: Upon recording operation, a distance f from the lower surface of a flapper 5A to a loaded matter is measured by a sensor 6 to write an output obtained in this process into a distance detecting circuit 7 and effect comparison and operation by an operating circuit 8 and, thereafter, the distance f is calculated and transmitted to a control circuit 9 to be compared with a thickness data and the like of to the material to be recorded, which are stored previously in the memory device of the control circuit 9, and the remaining amount and the remaining number of loadable matter is estimated.
