PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit a hydraulic damper to the inside of a bearing wall. SOLUTION: This damper 10 is constituted of a hydraulic damper 12 built in a bearing wall 11. Besides the hydraulic damper 12, a lower transmission member 22 fixed to a lower beam 16 and an upper transmission member 24 fixed to an upper beam 18 are provided in a wall face-shaped space 20 of the bearing wall 11 and the hydraulic damper 12 is attached so as to interpose between the lower transmission member 22 and the upper transmission member 24. Further, a pair of braces 26, 28 are diagonally stretched in the wall face- shaped space 20. The hydraulic damper 12 is supported by brackets 38, 40 in the middle position where the cylinder 12b does not interfere with the braces 26, 28. And a piston rod 12a is supported in the position where the piston rod crosses the brace 26. Hence, the hydraulic damper 12 can attenuate the horizontal vibration caused by the relative displacement of the lower transmission member 22 and the upper transmission member 24.
