PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an automatic transmission to approach to the limit to s neutral condition regardless of an individual difference and an operating condition of the automatic transmission, in idle neutral control relating to a speed change control device for the automatic transmission. SOLUTION: When an automatic transmission 10 is decided to be placed in a neutral position, speed ratio of an input shaft rotational speed relating to an engine speed is learned by a learning means 4. Based on a learning value of speed ratio in the neutral position, target speed ratio is set by a target speed ratio setting means 5. When a running condition is obtained, and when a vehicle is placed in a stopped condition, an engaging condition of a friction engaging element 22 connecting/disconnecting transmission of drive force input to an input shaft 21 from an engine to a drive wheel is controlled by a control means 2 so that the speed ratio becomes the set target ratio. |
