PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject preparation which stays in a living body, especially in a digestive tract, for a long time to gradually release a water-soluble medicine over a long time, and thereby allows to persist the effect of the medicine. SOLUTION: This sustained release preparation comprises a matrix carrying a water-soluble medicine, and an acrylic acid-based polymer cross-linked with divinylglycol or its salt. The water-soluble medicine is especially not limited, but is particularly preferably voglibose [N-(1,3-dihydroxy-2-propyl)valiolamine] which is anα-glucosidase inhibitor. The sustained release preparation is effectively used as a medicine for treating diseases such as diabetes and their accompanied complications, tumor, fever, ache, inflammation, ulcers, depression, allergies, cardiac diseases, arrhythmia and tuberculosis.
