PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel hanging tool which can easily hang a panel in order to hang up or hang down the panel which is a component body of a building, and to provide a panel hanging method for hanging the panel by using the tool. SOLUTION: There is provided a panel hanging tool for hanging a panel which has an insertion hole formed therein at an edge in the width direction from a side of one surface GP1. The panel hanging tool 1 is comprised of a hanging tool main body 3 for being hung, a hanging pin 4 provided for the hanging tool main body 3, for being inserted into the insertion hole from the side of the one surface GP1, and a retaining portion 6 provided for the hanging tool main body 3, for abutting on a surface GP2 on the opposite side to the one surface GP1 of the panel GP in which the insertion hole is formed. The retaining portion 6 can move almost in parallel with the opposite surface GP2, and therefore it can recede from the opposite surface GP2.
