PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a waste toner which can effectively utilize the waste toner as a resource in consideration of the components, properties and the like of the toner and, in addition, can make handling of the waste toner of ultrafine powders easy. SOLUTION: Considering the fact that the toner having the market shake of 70-80% contain 40-50 wt.% iron; the toner is ultrafine particles having a particle diameter of several micron meters to several tens of micron meters; and an iron mill effectively utilizes the waste toner, concretely, the waste toner is mixed with firing raw materials in a waste toner mixing apparatus 1 and the firing raw material mixed with the waste toner is fired in a firing machine 2. The iron powder in the waste toner mixed with the firing raw materials can effectively be utilized as the iron source. Further, part of the resin in the waste toner is burnt and can effectively be utilized as the powder coke substitute. Further, since the waste toner is burnt as a mixture with the firing raw materials, the waste toner does not fly and the handling of the waste toner becomes easy.
