PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase grip performance without reduction of abrasion resistance by including a softener containing straight asphalt in raw material rubber composed of natural rubber and/or diene rubber. SOLUTION: As a tread rubber composition for a tire, 20-120 pts.wt. of a softener is compounded to 100 pts.wt. of raw material rubber which blends one or at least two or more of diene rubber such as natural rubber, butadiene rubber(BR) and styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR). Although the petroleum softener is preferably used as the softener, it is characterized in that 10-50 pts.wt. of 20-120 pts.wt. of that blended to the 100 pts.wt. of the raw material rubber is set as straight asphalt having 40-100 of an oblique insertion degree. It is possible to improve grip performance by substituting a part of the softener. A compound used for the tread rubber composition for the tire such as a rubber antioxidant and a vulcanization accelerator in this composition is suitably compounded complying with desired performance.
