PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed resin which feels like natural wood and exhibits not only high moisture-absorbing properties and high moisture-releasing properties but also high heat resistance though it is mainly composed of a styrenic resin. SOLUTION: A resin composition comprising a styrenic resin (such as a polystyrene or the like), an olefinic resin having a melting point of 130-250 deg.C (such as a polypropylenic resin or the like), a moisture-absorbing substance and a compatibilizer is subjected to foam molding to give a foamed resin excellent in moisture-absorbing properties, moisture-releasing properties and heat resistance. The compatibilizer included block copolymers composed of a polystyrene block and a polyolefin block (such as SBS resins or the like). The introduction of the compatibilizer brings about an increase of the content of the olefinic resin and improvement in heat resistance.
