PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus which can output an image of high gloss without using specified sheet and ink. SOLUTION: An ink jet printer 1 comprises an initial heater 31 for a sheet (recording sheet) P on which an image is formed, and a roller 32 for pressing a heated sheet P. Since the sheep P is pressed under a state where the ink of the image is fused through initial heating, smoothness of the image can be enhanced significantly. Consequently, extremely high gloss can be imparted to the image.
