PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a connection insert without damaging a driving work, and to hold it at a specified position in a long cylindrical insert driving machine. SOLUTION: In the insert driving machine comprising a cylindrical body 2 provided with a driving means 1 to drive an insert 4a in a vertically movable manner, and a magazine 3 branched from a tip of the cylindrical body 2, a connection insert 4 in which a plurality of inserts 4a are connected can be charged in the magazine 3, a separation mechanism a to separate the leading insert 4a from the next insert 4a is provided, and a holding mechanism b to hold the leading insert 4a separated and fed by the separation mechanism a to a driving part 8 at the tip of the cylindrical body 2 is provided on a lower part of the cylindrical body 2.
