PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine wherein the reliability can be improved and man hours can be reduced when a new machine is introduced by a method wherein backup data can be eliminated (cleared) when a power is applied, without causing costs. SOLUTION: Game value information (winning data) sent from a game control unit 107 is stored in a RAM 203 to back up the storage contents of the game value information in the RAM 203, whereby stoppage of game balls relating to the game value information is detected by a safe sensor 150. When electric power is applied to a game machine 1 and game value information is held in the RAM 203, and when stoppage of ball is not detected by the sensor 150, the game value information held in the RAM 203 is eliminated.
