PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and stably manufacture an ink jet image receiving sheet which shows an easily ink drying property and high glossiness. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an ink jet image receiving sheet with a coloring matter receptive layer formed on a support comprises a step to apply a coloring matter receptive layer coating liquid containing inorganic fine particles and a water-soluble resin to the surface of a support whose degree of size by Coff size process measurement is 25 g/m2 or less, a first drying step to dry the coating liquid so that the concentration of solids in the layer falls within the range of 15-40 wt.% before the layer to which the coating liquid is applied could indicate a falling drying rate, a step to donate a solution containing a crosslinking agent which crosslinks the water-soluble resin to the layer to which the coating liquid is applied, and a second drying step to dry the layer to which the solution containing the crosslinking agent is donated and cure the coloring matter receptive layer. |
