PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install and settle an illumination unit on each staircase by providing a wiring drawing-out part leading out cables from the illumination unit to the back part of the staircase on the decorative plate material of the staircase providing the decorative plate material on a staircase base material. SOLUTION: The lower face part of a treadboard is extended from frontward to rearward to provide a wiring groove part 6, and cables 5 are simply drawn out from the rear face of a decorative treadboard 2 to the back part of a staircase by passing the wiring groove part 6. Next, the cables 5 from each drawn- out illumination unit 4 are connected through a harness connector 51 or the like. In this case, the unit 4 itself is settled in the wiring groove part 6, the lower stage decorative treadboard 2 can be illuminated, and the illumination unit 4 is arranged on a part projected frontward from a decorative riser 3 in the decorative treadboard 2. Furthermore, the illumination unit 4 is fixed in the wiring groove part 6 by screwing or the like. Thereby the design and the external appearance of the staircase is secured to settle the illumination unit 4, and thereafter retrofitted.
