摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulically operated limited slip differential device having a simple on/off function, different from a fluid pressure supplying/ circulating control path for operating a clutch assembly. SOLUTION: The hydraulically operated limited slip differential device 10 utilizes a variable pressure relief non-return valve which adjusts a limited slip function to an arbitrary condition between an all 'on' condition and an all 'off' condition, to thereby change the maximum fluid pressure which can be used in a differential case 14. The working fluid does not pass through the variable pressure relief non-return valve until fluid pressure of the differential case 14 causes the operating pressure of the non-return valve to generate reaction stronger than operating pressure of the non-return valve, and hence exhibits the maximum pressure limit in this fluid system. An actuator 76 selectively controls the working pressure of the variable pressure relief non-return valve. The motion of the actuator 76 corresponds to change of holding force of the variable pressure relief non-return valve.
