PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy and economic auxiliary breathing device with a reliability. SOLUTION: A compressor 1 driven by a motor 3 supplies breathing gas to a nasal mask 4 by low, positive and relative pressure. The motor 3 is controlled to keep pressure in the supply pipe 2 of the compressor 1, which is substantially equal to a setting point Pc independent of the exhalation and the inhalation of a patient. A computer 16 receives a motor speed signal as an input 14 being a parameter which indicates the breathing action of the patient. When the reduction of breathing is obvious by analyzing a motor speed change, the computer increases the pressure setting point Pc. When it comes to be obvious that the breathing reduction does not exist for a prescribed time by the analysis of the motor speed change, the computer decreases the pressure setting point by a prescribed quantity. The device is used for optimizing pressure to be given to the patient by considering the various stages of breathing and the progress of a disease. |
