PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater which can be easily constructed and has a high structural reliability. SOLUTION: This breakwater 11 is provided with piles 12 driven so as to protrude from the bottom face of the sea and a curtain wall 13 supported by the piles 12 and extended orthogonally to the advancing direction of waves. In this case, the curtain wall 13 is formed by integrating a plurality of breakwater blocks 18,.... Through-holes 19, 19 vertically piercing these plurality of blocks 18 are formed. The breakwater blocks 18 and the piles 12 are integrated together by inserting the piles 12 into the through-holes 19.
