PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach a take-up device to any position of a long wire harness, reduce stresses of wires, improve external view, eliminate the need for connectors, and reduce the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The device has a case 3 consisting of upper and lower covers 1, 2, and a roller 4 provided with a partition plate 18 for dividing the inside of the case into first- and second storage parts, a spindle 19, and a take-up drum 20, is rotatably provided in the case. A mounting member 39 through which a wire harness 27 is installed, is assembled to a notch of the partition plate. A tube 40 fixed to the mounting member, covers a moving wire harness 27a over a specified length. The tube is wrapped around the take-up drum to extend from a harness lead-through opening 10 to the outside, and the other end of the tube is fixed to a moving side wire harness through a fixture 48. A fixing side wire harness 27b is fixed to the mounting member, loosely wrapped around the spindle, and fixed to a harness lead-through opening 11 so as to extend outside. Further, a take-up spring for energizing the roller in the taking-up direction, is housed in the take-up drum.
