PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of reliably and easily performing positioning of the tip of a recording medium. SOLUTION: When a pinch roller 26 is separated from a conveying roller 24, a striking surface 50a of a tip positioning member 50 is positioned by being interlocked with the operation so as to project from a platen 14 on the upstream side of the conveying roller 24 in a direction of an arrow A. When the tip positioning member 50 is positioned in this position, a recording paper sheet 12 is inserted between the conveying roller 24 and the pinch roller 26 from the direction of an arrow D. The tip in the direction of an arrow D of the recording paper sheet 12 is brought into impingement against the striking surface 50a by the insertion, and the tip of the recording paper sheet 12 is positioned.
