PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of supporting a sheet material in a proper position by preventing the sheet material from running on an inclined surface when the sheet material is regulated by a rear end regulating plate. SOLUTION: A stepped stopper 24 having a vertical surface in relation to a sheet material support surface is arranged on an opening part provided on an inclined surface 23 of a paper feeding cassette 20. The stopper 24 is moved to a contact position and brought into contact with the front edge of a sheet material in a state where the paper feeding cassette 20 is pulled out from an image forming device, the sheet material is prevented from running on the inclined surface 23, the stopper 24 is moved to the non-contact position in which the stopper 24 is not brought into contact with the sheet material by being interlocked with the operation for mounting the paper feeding cassette 20, on an image forming device, and the sheet feeding operation is not disturbed.
