PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to obtain a quantitative data such as a bone protruding rate of the back in order to diagnose bedsore by comparing multiple shapes on cross-sectional contours at the back of a human body measured by a shape reading means to a shape illustrated to define a specified evaluation based on the results. SOLUTION: To measure a shape of the cross-sectional contour at the back of a human body, a reading means 1 is kept vertical on an affected part to be diagnosed, that is, on a line connecting the sacrum to the both gluteus, and either front end of a reference probe 2 or a measuring probe 3 is in contact with the affected part. The reading means 1 is slightly pressed until the front end of the pair of reference probes 2 reaches both gluteus, and a shape connecting to the front ends of the measurement probes 3 and a shape of a transfer plate 5 are made similar to that of the cross-sectional contour connecting the sacrum to the both gluteus. The shape of the transfer plate 5 is transferred to a record paper held at a holder 6a of a holding means 6, and the transferred shape is used to diagnose bedsore.
