PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily disinfect medical implements which are contaminated by prion or have the possibility of being contaminated by the prion without the corrosion and deterioration thereby preparing a prion inactivating agent into which glycidol is incorporated. SOLUTION: The prion is known as infectious protein not having DNA or RNA. Kuru, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, etc., are known as the plagues occurring in the prion as a pathogen. At this time, the prion inactivating agent to be used for disinfection of the medical implements which are contaminated by the prion or have the possibility of being contaminated by the prion is prepared by incorporating the glycidol therein. The prion inactivating agent contg. the glycidol is usually prepared as an aqueous glycidol solution and the glycidol concentration of the aqueous glycidol solution to be brought into contact with the object to be disinfected is usually specified to 0.1 to 30 v/v%, more preferably 0.3 to 10 v/v%. As a result, the infections power of the prion may be effectively attenuated without the deterioration and damage to the medical implements.
