PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor capable of improving a start-up property of heating operation by discharging a suction gas into a discharging chamber to make the compressor an interior low pressure type in starting the heating operation, and capable of effectively operating the compressor by discharging a high pressure compressed gas into the discharging chamber to make the compressor an interior high pressure type operation at the time of normal operations of cooling and heating. SOLUTION: Suction pipes 9a, 9b and discharging pipe 10a, 10b are respectively connected with a suction hole 4 and a discharge hole 5 by piping. A first communicating pipe 11a communicating the suction pipes 9a, 9b and a discharge chamber 6 is provided, and a second communicating pipe 11b communicating the discharging pipes 10a, 10b and the discharge camber 6 is provided. A piping switch system 12 selecting either one of the first communicating pipe 11a or the second communicating pipe 11b and switching so as to communicate to the discharge chamber 6 is provided.
